ToDVI
The answer
Short answer Not with the adapters documented here: they convert DVI → VGA only. A VGA source needs a product documented for VGA-to-DVI conversion.
What you need
The cable or adapter class
- Documented application: DVI-I output on a computer to a VGA display. Reverse use is not independently established.
- DVI-D source to VGA display only; the source does not establish reverse VGA-to-DVI conversion.
Before you buy
What must be true
- Requires the documented DVI-I source path; digital-only DVI-D is explicitly distinguished.
- Active DVI-D to VGA video conversion; audio is explicitly unsupported. Operating-limit entries disagree.
- USB is documented for power, not for video or general data transport.
Watch out
Direction and exact products matter
Connectors that fit do not prove a connection works. Check that the exact cable or adapter is documented for VGA → DVI, and that both devices support what you need.
