Charging watts versus data speed: independent requirements
Watts and Gbit/s answer different questions.
The useful distinction
Define the task before choosing the cable. For charging, use the device’s supported charging specifications; for data, record the required USB mode; for a display, verify the supported video transport. A single prominent number on packaging cannot answer all three.
Not included. Check exact device and accessory documentation.
No electrical replacement approval.
This is a scoped requirements guide, not an interoperability certification. It does not test hardware, calculate an arbitrary display timing, or replace the exact product documentation. A missing capability stays unknown.

What to check
Keep power rating and data mode in different fields.
Do not call a USB 2.0 data cable “charging-only” merely because its label emphasizes watts.
Do not infer display support from charging behavior.
Check the entire charger–cable–device system for power and the whole source–path–sink for video.
AI-assisted inspection is not independent engineering review. Source scope and access limitations are disclosed below. Procedural checklists are editorial requirements, not hardware measurements.
