Verify next: Confirm the motherboard’s Key-A versus Key-B connector, exact port mode and cable requirements; an external reversible Type-C plug does not make this internal header reversible.

C264B · open this page’s canonical claim — USB-IF Rev. 1.1 defines the Key-A 20-pin front-panel header as non-reversible and, looking into the front of the header for one USB Type-C port, assigns P1–P20 to VBUS, SuperSpeed pairs, ground, CC1/CC2, SBU1/SBU2 and D+/D− as shown in Figure 3-1.

Pinout

Choose the exact wiring. Pin numbers follow its stated view; a schematic does not establish physical positions. Check your exact device before wiring.

What the status labels mean
Confirmed
Recorded research passes agree within this variant; this is not independent human review or hardware validation.
Single source
Only one underlying document, or one pass, supports this assignment.
Device-specific
Supported for the named equipment or wiring only. Check your device’s manual.
Unverified
Missing or conflicting evidence. Do not wire from this row.
Not connected
The source explicitly says NC, no contact or no pin for this wiring.

Scoped support: Defines 20-pin and 40-pin front-panel internal headers; the 20-pin Key-A supports one USB Type-C port or one Standard-A port. V43 uses mechanical/interface identity only.

Not established / limitations: Identification/reference scope only. V43 does not convert this source into a universal pinout, fabrication drawing, electrical approval, protocol guarantee or end-to-end compatibility verdict.

Scoped support: Primary specification inspection for the Key-A 20-pin header/plug: keying, non-reversible internal cable behavior, front-of-header orientation and the one-USB-Type-C pin assignment P1–P20.

Not established / limitations: This profile covers the Key-A 20-pin reference design for one USB Type-C front-panel port. It does not certify a motherboard, cable assembly, USB mode, charging capability or fabricated part.
