Separate voltage, current, power and data
The cable needs its own evidence.
A high wattage does not establish every current at every voltage. No value is reverse-calculated when the source does not provide it.
| Exact cable | Power limit | Voltage / current evidence | Data evidence | Source scope |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple 60W USB-C Charge Cable (1 m) | 60 W | Unknown in the inspected evidence; not inferred from watts. | Publisher lists USB 2 data rates; not a video or high-speed-data certification. | S166 Cable model reference only. Does not prove the identity, condition, current/voltage rating or negotiation of a cable in use. |
| Apple 240W USB-C Charge Cable (2 m) | 240 W | Unknown in the inspected evidence; not inferred from watts. | Publisher lists USB 2 data rates; charging capacity does not imply faster data. | S167 Power rating does not imply fast data or video. No physical cable, e-marker or runtime inspection was performed. |
| Eaton Tripp Lite U420-003-G2-5A | 100 W | 20 V / 5 A published limits | USB 3.2 Gen 2 up to 10 Gbps. This does not establish a display mode or Thunderbolt link. | S181 PDF text inspected; page-image retrieval failed. Only explicit textual power, endpoint and data-rate statements are normalized. Broad compatibility marketing is excluded; physical hardware and label identity are not verified. |
| Eaton Tripp Lite U040-003-C-5A | 100 W | 20 V / 5 A published limits | USB 2.0 up to 480 Mbps; equal power ratings do not imply equal data rates. | S182 PDF text and both page images inspected. The evidence is a published cable rating, not the actual cable’s identity, condition, voltage drop or live negotiation. |
| Eaton Tripp Lite U040-003-C | 60 W | 20 V / 3 A published limits | USB 2.0 up to 480 Mbps. No precise length normalized because source fields disagree. | S183 All PDF text and page 2 image inspected; page 1 and 3 images could not be retrieved. Product-length fields disagree, so no precise length is normalized. Broad universal compatibility claims are excluded. |
60 W does not establish 5 A.
A published 20 V / 3 A cable limit is still a 3 A limit in this documentary comparison. Neither connector fit nor a larger wattage permits the worksheet to replace it with 5 A. S183
