Applies to: Named endpoint documentary synthesis: Apple TV 4K, Sony XR-55A80J, Sonos Arc; current exact firmware/app/content support still required. - video
- Apple TV 4K HDMI OUT → TV HDMI input other than its reserved return-channel input
- audio
- TV eARC-labeled port → supplied Arc HDMI cable → Sonos Arc HDMI; TV passes a supported input format.
- data
- Arc app setup is a separate network/software path.
- power
- Each device uses its documented supply.
What the path requires
- Confirm the TV’s exact regional Help Guide and labeled eARC port.
- Enable TV audio-system/eARC settings; complete current Sonos app setup.
- Use suitable HDMI cables, compatible content/service tier and Apple TV Audio Format setting.
- For Atmos, confirm actual incoming format in Sonos; an eARC label alone is insufficient.
Do not mistake a lower-format success for Atmos
A working TV picture and stereo sound establish neither MAT/Atmos passthrough nor the chosen HDR video mode. Record the audio receiver report and Apple TV format selection separately.

TV path is ARC only
Documented outcome: Documented conflict for this Atmos target
- Apple TV high-bandwidth Dolby Atmos.
- Do not infer support from an Atmos logo.
- Investigate an exact supported eARC passthrough path or a receiver/soundbar with documented source input and required video support.
- Keep ordinary supported stereo/surround alternatives separate.
Your next useful observation
Record TV eARC state, Apple TV Audio Format and Sonos incoming audio format.
Keep these limits
- Exact combined chain is editorial synthesis of endpoint documentation, not hardware tested.
- TV format/menu applicability and live app/content output remain conditional.
